The current state

As of October 2026, no Indian conformity-assessment body is yet recognised for EU CBAM verification. In practice, EU-accredited verifiers travel to India to conduct the first-year site visits.

What a site visit looks like

  • Walk-through of the installation boundary.
  • Meter check and sample document pull.
  • Review of the monitoring plan.
  • Interview with the operations lead and the person who produced the numbers.

How CBAMWorks helps

  • Batching. We group installations by cluster (e.g. Ludhiana) so the verifier’s travel cost is split across many operators.
  • Clean file. Verifier sees every number linked to its bill or production record, so the visit focuses on what matters.
  • Booking. Pro-plan importers can request a verifier in-dashboard; exporters on the Exporter Pack can request directly.
